I choose to photograph families because
that is what I love to do.
My goal therefore is to create portraits that will portray you, your family or your children to the best advantage. For that reason, I am more than willing to invest the time with you to do just that.
The images made at the portrait session are just the beginning of a multi-step process. While most photographs sold today are printed on automated equipment without artistic controls, each individual portrait is handcrafted by McNeil Designer Portraits to assure that the proper artistic effect is achieved. Prior to printing, the photographic image is rendered with many processes. Once printed, the image is further enhanced and corrected with many hours of sensitively applied hand artwork using dyes, oils, pastels and pencils. Upon completion, the finished portrait is embedded in artist's canvas to add additional depth and texture, and brushed with lacquer or enhanced with artist’s oil for permanence and protection.
Your finished portrait, then, is truly art of a very personal nature. It is created as an investment in the present to pay memory dividends for many years to come. As part of your home or office decor, it is a subtle reflection of your good taste and appreciation of fine workmanship, as well as a most appropriate expression of your personal sentiments.
